UI/UX in 2025: Design Trends That Actually Matter

Design Team·20/01/2025·5 min read

Every January brings a wave of top design trends articles. Most of them list the same things with different names. Here is our honest take on what is actually worth implementing.

What is worth it

Reduced motion by default. Accessibility is no longer optional. Users with vestibular disorders, or those just on low-battery mode, deserve a great experience too. Build animations with prefers-reduced-motion in mind from day one.

Variable fonts. The performance gains are real. One font file, infinite flexibility in weight and width. We are using them on every new project now.

Micro-interactions. Not flashy animations — subtle feedback. A button that confirms a click with a micro-bounce. A form field that subtly shifts colour when focused. These details make software feel alive.

Dark mode that is actually designed, not just inverted. Dark mode is not a simple colour flip. It needs its own colour system, its own shadow strategy, its own contrast ratios. We build dark-first now.

What we are leaving behind

Glassmorphism everywhere. It was beautiful in 2022. Now it is visual noise. Use it sparingly or not at all.

Overcrowded hero sections with five CTAs. One message. One action. That is what converts.

The constant

Clarity. No trend replaces clear hierarchy, legible type, and interfaces that do not make users think. If you are redesigning and want a second opinion on your current UI, we offer free 30-minute design audits. Just get in touch.
